Pooja is expert in massage therapy. She will patiently understand the queries, answer based on your requirements. She is very professional and organized. The best part is she is also certified in pediatric therapy. My 5 YO and 8 YO enjoyed their sessions and liked it so much. I definitely recommend Healastic( Pooja). I had such an amazing experience. I came in with pain in my leg, and the care and attention she gave to that area was incredible she really took the time to understand what was going on and treated it so thoughtfully. By the end of the session, the pain had completely eased. What stood out the most was how comfortable she made me feel throughout. Her energy is calm, professional, and genuinely caring. You can tell she truly wants her clients to feel better, not just physically but overall. I’m so grateful for the experience and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a massage that’s both healing and relaxing.

Pooja is an incredible massage therapist! I’ve received several massages from her and her touch is sublime—great deep tissue work when called upon but she has the skill to ease up when necessary as well. Her kind demeanor is also an incredible plus! A true 10/10 🙂

Why See a Registered Massage Therapist?

“Massage therapist” is not a protected title in the way “Registered Massage Therapist” is. An RMT is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), which requires accredited training, board examinations, ongoing professional development and adherence to a professional standard of practice.

In practical terms that means three things for you:

  • Insurance eligibility. Most Ontario extended health plans reimburse massage therapy only when it is provided by an RMT. You get a receipt with my registration number at every appointment.
  • Assessment, not just technique. Treatment begins with history and assessment, and contraindications are taken seriously — there are times I will decline to treat an area and refer you on instead.
  • Accountability. The CMTO sets the standards of practice and holds registrants to them.

I trained at the International Academy of Massage in Ottawa and have practised since 2020. I also worked as a psychotherapist beforehand, which still shapes how I assess persistent tension. More about my background.

Your therapist

Treated by Pooja Rishal, RMT

I’m a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, trained at the International Academy of Massage here in Ottawa, and practising since 2020.

Before massage therapy I worked as a psychotherapist. That background still informs how I assess — persistent tension usually has more behind it than one tight muscle, and treating it without that context tends to buy relief that does not last.

Every treatment is provided by me personally. You will not be passed between therapists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)?

An RMT is a therapist registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, the provincial regulator. Registration requires accredited training, board examinations and ongoing professional development. It is also what makes your treatment eligible for insurance reimbursement.

Do you provide receipts for insurance?

Yes. Every appointment comes with a receipt carrying my CMTO registration number, which you submit to your insurer. Most Ontario extended health plans cover massage therapy by an RMT. Check your own plan for annual limits and whether it requires a doctor's note.

Which massage therapy service should I book?

If you are unsure, call (613) 908-5323 and we can talk it through before you book. As a rough guide: deep tissue for persistent tension, relaxation for general stress and sleep, lymphatic drainage for swelling, prenatal through pregnancy, and buccal facial for jaw and TMJ discomfort.

How long is an appointment?

Every massage therapy appointment is 60 minutes, including intake and assessment where it is needed. Paediatric Wellness Massage is 30 minutes.

Where in Manotick are you located?

At 5511 Manotick Main St #2B, Manotick, ON K4M 1A3 — on Manotick Main Street in the village, a couple of minutes from Watson's Mill and Dickinson Square, with free parking on site. It is an easy drive from Barrhaven, Riverside South, Findlay Creek, Greely, Kars, Osgoode, Richmond and Kemptville, and clients travel in from Orleans and Kanata too. Manotick is roughly 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 8:30pm. Closed Sundays. Appointments are booked online through the calendar, which shows live availability.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No referral is needed to book massage therapy in Ontario. Some insurance plans ask for one before they reimburse, so it is worth checking your policy.

Insurance & direct billing

Direct billing is coming soon — TELUS eClaims and Green Shield are being set up now, with Sun Life and Pacific Blue Cross to follow.

You do not need to wait for it. Pay at your appointment and I’ll email you a receipt with my CMTO registration number. Submit it to your insurer yourself — it takes a couple of minutes online and you are reimbursed exactly as you would be with direct billing. The money comes back to you instead of being paid to me up front, and nothing about your coverage changes.
